Professional Biography

In more than 25 years of advising clients I’ve learned that planning is not about being overly clever or predicting the future perfectly; it’s about the flexibility and clarity to adapt when the unexpected happens. As my first boss was a fan of saying, keep it simple, stupid! In the current climate, this have never seemed more appropriate.

How do you describe what you do?

I work with families to help them in achieve what matters most to them, whether that's buying their forever home, building for the retirement they envision or supporting the next generation achieve their goals. In short the family finance director.

What's next for you professionally?

With 25 years client experience, I’ve been lucky to be at the forefront of financial planning becoming a profession. For the past decade, I’ve also had the privilege of mentoring future advisers, and now look forward to them leading the profession.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

Never advise a client to do anything you don't understand 100% yourself. Advice, I bet many people wish their advisers had taken.

How did you start off in your career?

before I had finished university, I had committed to renting a very nice (non-student!) apartment. I was however lacking a job. Ironically, without planning, I started a career in planning.

What's your favourite thing about your role?

I'm lucky to work with clients and colleagues alike to fix problems and create solutions. Advice is a very personal relationship and I'm privileged to have my clients trust in supporting them them achieve their goals.

What qualifications and memberships do you have?
