Evelyn Partners, the wealth manager entrusted with £62 billion of its clients’ assets, has unveiled a new partnership with Women in Football (WiF), a professional network championing equality for people working in the sport - both on and off the pitch.
Under the tie-up, Evelyn Partners has become the founding partner of the Women's Financial Empowerment Programme, a pioneering initiative developed in collaboration with Women in Football. The Programme aims to boost financial education for athletes and professional women working in the sport while also raising awareness of the pivotal role wealth management plays in securing long-term financial success.
Through the bespoke financial education initiative, WiF members will receive direct access to Evelyn Partners’ financial planning and investment management expertise with course modules aimed at empowering women to confidently manage their finances, grow their wealth and plan effectively for their futures.
WiF’s commitment to advancing equality in football, which includes championing women players and professionals across the sport, aligns with Evelyn Partners’ mission to help close the female advice gap. Ensuring women are set on the right financial footing to secure their futures is vital in an age when an increasing proportion of wealth in the UK is now held by females. Research indicates that women are typically less likely than men to consult a financial adviser for their financial planning needs and can feel less confident about investing than their male peers – something Evelyn Partners is keen to address.
Adam Osper, Managing Partner at Evelyn Partners, who specialises in advising sports professionals, commented: “We are excited to launch our new Women’s Financial Empowerment Programme in collaboration with Women in Football. Our commitment to supporting the rapid growth of women’s sport - and the accompanying rise in both female athletes requiring financial guidance and professionals entering the sector— taps into our wider goal to serve more female wealth clients and position ourselves as the default destination for women’s wealth.
“Women in the sports sector continue to grapple with huge inequalities in pay, training provision and post-professional sport pathways. This is why Evelyn Partners’ wider partnership strategy focuses heavily on the financial needs of women. As women’s sport continues to evolve - bringing increased athlete earnings and greater female representation across the industry - our decision to team up with a variety of major women’s sports platforms, enables us to not only equip players and female professionals with the financial knowledge and confidence they need to manage their money during and after their career but also to provide onward career pathways into the financial services industry.”
Yvonne Harrison, Chief Executive of Women in Football, said: “As well as supporting employers in the football industry to develop a gender-equal workplace, collaborating with Women in Football can help organisations in other sectors to grow their visibility in and around the beautiful game.
“Our new partnership with the wonderful team at Evelyn Partners is a great example – and most importantly of all from a WIF perspective, it also offers our members access to some of the best-informed financial advice in the business. We’re already looking forward to teaming up with Evelyn Partners on the workshops that make up the Women’s Financial Empowerment Programme.”
Women in Football (WIF) is a vibrant professional network of around 11,500 people of all genders who support equality in the football industry. Supported by our lead partner Barclays, we’re taking action to level the playing field for all roles, on and off the pitch, in women’s and men’s football.
We celebrate women’s achievements, campaign against sexism, and empower our members through inspirational networking and professional development opportunities. We support organisations to become truly gender-inclusive employers and stand ready to work with any stakeholders who share our vision of a gender-equal future for football.
